Q1.   Prove that, in a right triangle, the square on the hypotenus  is equal to the sum of the squares on the other two sides.


Q2.   An observed from the top of a 100m high light house from the sea-level, the angles of depression of two ships are 30°the 45°. If one ship is exactly behind the other on the same side of the light house, find the distance between the two ships. [𝑈𝑠𝑒 √3 = 1.732] 



Q3.   A motor boat whose speed is 18 km/hr in still water takes 1hr more to go 24 km upstream than to return downstream to the same spot. Find the speed of the stream. 


Q4.   In an equilateral  triangle ABC, D is a point on side BC such that BD = 1/3BC. Prove that 9(AD)2= 7(AB)2 



Q5.  If the points A(k + 1, 2k), B(3k, 2k + 3) and C(5k -1, 5k) are collinear then find the value of k. 



Q6.   The diagonal of a rectangular field is 16 metres more than the shorter side. If the longer side is 14 metres more than the shorter side, then find the lengths of the sides of the field. 



Q7.  Find the 60th term of the AP 8, 10, 12, ..., if it has a total of 60 terms and hence find the sum of its last 10 terms. 



   Q8. Find the values of k so that the area of the triangle with vertices (1, – 1), (– 4, 2k) and (– k, – 5) is 24 sq. units. 



Q9.  The mean of the following distribution is 18. Find the frequency f of the class 19 – 21.

Q11.  The sum of the areas of two squares is 640 m2. If the difference of their perimeters is 64 m,find the sides of the square. 



Q12.  Find the values of frequencies x and y in the following frequency distribution table, if N = 100 and median is 32.

Q13Draw a triangle ABC with BC = 6 cm, AB = 5 cm and <ABC = 60°. Then construct a triangle whose sides are 3/4 of the corresponding sides of the  triangleABC. 



Q14. Solve by elimination method and the substitution method : I} x + y = 5 and 2x – 3y = 4.  {ii} x – 3y – 3 = 0 and 3x – 9y – 2 = 0 



Q15 1. Find the area of a sector of a circle with radius 6 cm if angle of the sector is 60°. 



2. Find the area of a quadrant of a circle whose circumference is 22 cm
